Electrical Grounding for Corrugated Stainless Steel to Insure against Lightning Strike and Possible Fire

We were recently handed an item labeled as major concern on a Treatment, Repairs and Replacement report from a buyer. This was a concern to the seller as the home was less than two years old. The problem was not a code violation but a concern from insurance companies that are required to insure safety against lightning strike and possible fire.

This was also an easy fix for an item labeled as a major concern that stirred the emotions of both the buyer and seller for both safety and cost. They parts and labor turned out to be minimal. The repair only required a U clamp attached to the gas line where it enters the home, a #6 gage wire connected to a ground post. Now we have a happy seller and a buyer that feels safer in their new home.
