Restaurant Review - The ClubHouse Bar & Grille

If you're new to Tulsa or planning a move here, have no fear about your selection of restaurants. The Tulsa area is overflowing with a variety of places to eat ranging from high end eclectic to down home cooking.

One of my newest discoveries happened on a recent birthday. Turning 40 was a little hard to take. I still vividly remember being 16, laying on my bed with the radio blaring Van Halen and staring at my Eddie Van Halen poster above my bed. On my mind at the time was the question where will I be when I'm 25 or 30 or (gasp) 35 ! I never fantasized about 40! But, here I am. And it's not as bad as I thought!

For this milestone birthday, a group of close friends surprised me with a stretch limo, manicure/pedicure, and a wonderful meal at The ClubHouse Bar & Grille. Lest we forget, the out of this world chocolate cake from Whole Foods. But, that's another blog!

The atmosphere at the ClubHouse has an upscale laid back feel. It's a great place to take clients for an impressive dinner. And, at the same time, you can take the family for a nice meal. This is provided our little ones are used to restaurants. There's a great circular bar to meet friends for happy hour and upstairs is 2 dining areas for private parties. The menu has quite a few selections. And, of course the drink menu was quite diverse too! Remember, I turned 40. I needed to sample everything!

We ordered quite an array of food. Everything from sliders to grilled portabella mushrooms. I can honestly say it was all good! I had the sliders topped with caramelized onions. Tasty, Tasty. One of the gals had the smoked chicken salad with a cilantro vinaigrette. Excellent salad! The chicken had a great taste, and the little fried chips on the side added just the right crunch to it. The marinated portabella mushroom was probably the hit of the table. It had a great smoky flavor with melted cheese on top and tiny cutup red bell peppers. It sat on a bed of lettuce drizzled in balsamic. I even sampled and liked the fried veggies. I didn't care for the cauliflower, but I'm not a huge cauliflower fan. Now, one of the best things enjoyed that evening (besides the Sophia Coppola Champagne in a can with a straw!!) was the buffalo fried cheese. WOW! If I thought it wasn't illegal, I would eat this appetizer all by myself! I was a little worried the Weight Watchers Police might send out an APB.

So after reading this I hope you're as sufficiently hungry as I am. Make plans to try the ClubHouse. It's located right next to the Spirit Bank Event Center at 105th & S. Memorial. You won't be disappointed.
