Yesterday Chinowth & Cohen Realtor Virginia Miller and I attended the WNBA Tulsa Shock draft pick party at the Osage Million Dollar Elm Casino in Sand Springs. It's the first time I've ever seen a draft pick (granted via satellite tv), and quite honestly the first time I've ever had an interest to see a draft pick in action. But, I've been following the teams steps since the announcement of Tulsa's newest Professional Sports Franchise the Detroit Shock relocating to Tulsa and thought this would be interesting.
At prior events I was fortunate to meet Head Coach Nolan Richardson, WNBA's President Donna Orender and Steve Swetoha, President of the Shock. What a great team to get this off the ground. I am convinced this is a terrific opportunity for Tulsa and it's going to be an exciting season! One that we can't miss.
The team underwent a name change to The Tulsa Shock and picked awesome team colors - black and gold with a splash of red. Who doesn't love black and gold? It's worked great for Chinowth & Cohen Realtors. Maybe our mojo will rub off on the team!
The BOK Center is going to be the Team's home court. The inaugural game is scheduled Saturday, May 15th against the Minnesota Lynx starting at 7:00 pm. Fans can purchase tickets for regular season Shock games online at www.wnba.com/shock/tickets or by calling 1-866-7-BOKCTR (265287).
