From Wool Socks to Flip Flops

Will Rogers once said, "If you don't like the weather in Oklahoma, wait a minute and it will change."

Nothing could be further from the truth as Oklahoman's just experienced record snow fall in February with frigid artic temperatures. Just a week ago the temperature was 12 below zero with giant snow drifts and icy roads, bringing us to dead halt in our everyday activities and local commerce. Schools and businesses were closed, and grocers experienced outages of milk and eggs with gas stations running out of regular unleaded gas. Now one week later, it's a balmy 71 degrees, my fescue is greening up and today, I am wearing my flip flops and a sleeveless blouse.

Oklahoma is known for it's beautiful seasonal changes which can unexpectably happen over night.

I have to admit that it feels great to have this little splurge of spring late in February. I hope the Ground Hog is right and Spring is truly just around the corner.
